Scott and Sons support Joanne as she takes part in The Marsden March charity sponsored walk this month!
Here at Scott and Sons, we’re thrilled to be supporting Joanne Scott as she embraces the 14 mile challenge that is The Marsden March.
Starting at The Royal Marsden’s Hospital in Chelsea, Joanne, along with the other 5,000 sponsored walkers taking part will begin the challenging 14 mile trek to The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton on Sunday 16th March.
Starting at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, the 14 mile hikers will lead the way setting off bright and early at 8:30am, with members of the hospital and local celebrities also joining in. The route will take them through Chelsea, Putney, Wimbledon and finally arriving at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton.
For those who would like to take part but would struggle to complete 14 miles, there will also be a more family friendly 5 mile walk that picks up on the last 5 miles of the longer walk either for those with young children, the elderly or those less mobile.
To prepare for the challenge, organisers of the walk have recommended following a regular weekly training plan in order to gradually build up stamina, preparing the body and mind for the physical endurance ahead.
Once everybody has finished their walks, the event will end with a party for all the
walkers, the supports and staff from both hospitals. With a BBQ, live entertainment, guest bands and face painting activities, it’s safe to say there will be much fun had by all to celebrate the huge achievements and hard work!
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is an excellent cause and one that the team here at Scott and Sons are thoroughly committed to and are privileged to support every step of the way! The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, care, education and research elements of the illness. Therefore, any money we can raise for the charity really does go a long way and helps show your support for all the hard work the staff at The Royal Marsden put in every day. Likewise you can support each other and acknowledge the way cancer has affected your life and those close to you by sharing your experiences and honouring a loved one.
Every penny or pound donated will contribute towards offering the best possible care for those cancer patients, so we’re asking you to very kindly help us support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and the great work they do. Whether you contribute by donating through Joanne’s Just Giving page or whether you come down on the day to support for the walkers and cheer them on, every little thing is well and truly appreciated!
Scott and Sons say GOOD LUCK JOANNE!!
