Dry carpet cleaning is an effective carpet cleaning method that is growing in popularity. Also known as low-moisture carpet cleaning, it uses specialised machinery and cleaning compounds to lift dirt and dust particles without saturating them.

An alternative to steam cleaning, dry carpet cleaning uses moisture to activate cleaning agents, which almost eliminates drying times. The team at Scott & Sons carry out dry carpet cleaning across Hemel Hempstead, St Albans and Watford, delivering excellent results at great value for money.

Host Dry ExtractionCarpet Cleaning

Not only does dry carpet cleaning remove long drying periods, but it can also prevent mould growth. Whilst not the best option for carpets with deep-set stains, it is a viable cleaning method for those needing a quick turnaround.

We use state-of-the-art HOST dry extraction machines that remove dirt from your carpet without causing any damage.

First, we inspect the carpet and do a pre-treatment vacuum before applying the cleaning compound. There is a typical dwell time of between 10 to 30 minutes for the cleaning agent to be absorbed. As mentioned, a small amount of water may be introduced to activate the chemicals.

Once this has lapsed, we then extract the material using high-powered HOST equipment before giving the surface a final vacuum – this will ensure any residual fibres or dirt are removed from the carpet.

Rug Dry Cleaning

As well as carpets, we can use our dry carpet cleaning equipment to clean rugs, using minimal moisture to lift dirt from the deep fibres of the material. This method of cleaning is safe to perform on all types of carpets and rugs and will not cause any damage.

Not only is dry carpet cleaning effective and time-saving, but it is also fast becoming more environmentally-friendly than traditional steam cleaning.
